Bentson Copple & Associates has a highly experienced team of professionals with diverse backgrounds within and outside the orthodontic community. Our team strives to earn our clients' satisfaction through hard work, meaningful advice, and dedication to developing and implementing a successful orthodontic transaction.
Chris Bentson has been working with orthodontists regarding the business aspects of their practices for over twenty-five years. He is currently President of Bentson Copple & Associates. Chris also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Bentson Copple reSource, a quarterly newsletter focused on the business aspects of running a successful orthodontic practice. He is a frequent guest lecturer at orthodontic resident programs, study clubs, and orthodontic user meetings. He is a contributor to national orthodontic periodicals and journals. Over the course of Chris’ career, he has personally visited over one thousand orthodontic practices in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Doug Copple, CVA
Doug Copple graduated from Appalachian State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and Master of Science (MS) degree in Accounting. Prior to working with Bentson Copple & Associates, he was an Audit Senior for Ernst & Young, LLP, and an Audit Associate/Senior for KPMG, LLP. Doug is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He is integral in both the exclusive valuation methodology and tax allocation/negotiations in the transition process. Doug ensures that our clients are provided with reports of the highest quality that adhere strictly to industry standards. His goal at Bentson Copple & Associates is to provide shorter negotiation cycles and stronger assurance of deals reaching completion.
Amber Copple, CPA
Amber Copple is the Financial Director at Bentson Copple & Associates. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from Appalachian State University. Amber is responsible for maintaining the company’s general ledger, including financial reporting and account reconciliation. She helps manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions and has human resource responsibilities as well.
Anthony Copple, JD
Anthony Copple received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Banking (BSBA) from Appalachian State University. He went on to attend law school at Elon University where he earned his Juris Doctorate (JD). Before joining the Bentson Copple & Associates team, Anthony honed his negotiation skills at a small, general practice law firm in Asheboro, North Carolina. He works closely with our clients and their counterparts to ensure that practice transitions progress and conclude as efficiently as possible. His goal at Bentson Copple & Associates is to negotiate the terms of each transition in a way that meets or exceeds each client’s expectations.
Jackie Crowe, CPA
Jackie Crowe is a Financial Analyst at Bentson Copple & Associates. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jackie is responsible for the initial creation of valuation reports and works with our team and clients to understand the unique financial position of each Practice. She also prepares partnership and buy-out documents for transition services.
Director of Marketing
Laura Overcash serves as Director of Marketing at Bentson Copple & Associates. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a concentration in Advertising from Appalachian State University. Laura is responsible for all of the Bentson Copple & Associates' marketing campaigns, public relations, and branding which allows our company to be visible to clients who are in need of any orthodontic transitional service. She coordinates the details of all trade show events, speaking engagements, lectures, and webinars. She is also the Publication Manager of the Bentson Copple reSource. She develops and oversees the publication’s content each quarter and ensures that the publication is produced on schedule.
Shannon Patterson, CPR, CMSR
Director of Practice Opportunities & Placement Consultant, Kolbe Certified™ Consultant
Shannon Patterson is a recruitment leader in the orthodontic industry specializing in placement and retention of doctors by engaging in a proactive recruitment strategy. She helps place candidates where they will be a successful fit not only for the practice but also the community. She is also a Kolbe Certified™ Consultant and expert in the Kolbe suite of assessments for selection of the ideal candidate match specializing in strength-based relationships for both doctors. She specializes in comprehensive talent management, candidate sourcing, candidate lead generation and strategic placement planning. Shannon has earned certifications in High Impact Recruiting (CPR), Certified Medical Staff Recruiting (CMSR), Certified Kolbe Consultant and is a member of the American Academy of Medical Management (AAMM).
Amie Salem provides administrative and office support for the entire Bentson Copple & Associates team. She is the friendly voice you hear when you call our office. She assists with valuations, contracts, correspondence, billing, scheduling and performs other essential administrative duties. She plays a vital role in ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly. Amie has a long history of providing top-notch customer service and always enjoys getting to know our clients.
Denise Stroud works in Finance and Operation capacities for Bentson Copple & Associates. She assists with the production of valuations and works with our clients to obtain the necessary documents. She focuses on finding ways to improve existing processes and contributes her writing and editing skills as needed. Denise has extensive experience in Finance and Process Management with such multi-nationals as Georgia Pacific, Philips Electronics, Takata, Syngenta, and Goldman Sachs, having worked both overseas and locally.
